Tomorrow, the 21st, we're showing fully restored hand-colored copy of Méliès' A Trip to the Moon on 35mm with soundtrack by Air along with The Extraordinary Voyage, a documentary about the film's restoration and other turn-of-the-century movies. First we'll screen A Trip sans sound so you can experience it as viewers in 1902 did (it's only 15 minutes long), then we'll show the documentary, and finally we'll watch A Trip to the Moon again with the Air soundtrack. This is a one-time screening. 6:30pm.
I've seen both films and they're great---a must-see for anyone interested in the history of cinema.
"Come watch my movie!"
