BLACK INDEPENDENTS, Vol. 1, Feb 2020

Black Independents

In observation of Black History Month, Ragtag Cinema celebrates the legacy of black filmmaking in America. Throughout its history, these filmmakers have challenged popular representations of blackness, as well as the system of film production and distribution. Independent by necessity and largely unseen outside of limited circles, BLACK INDEPENDENTS will exhibit and explore four unique films throughout the month of February that survey the varied waves of black independent cinema.
