It's officially movie season! That means long lines at the box office and Uprise Bakery's bar, sold-out shows, and broken dreams.
Here are some tips to making your show on time:
Buy your tickets online and get here early
You can purchase as many tickets as you like on our website, here.
Both of our theaters are general seating, so arrive with enough time to grab a seat together. Generally, we start seating 20–30 minutes before showtime. Once you buy your tickets online, you will see a printable confirmation page. You can print that out, or simply bring your credit card to the box office to print your tickets. If there is a line at the box office and a ticket-taker on duty, you may go straight to the ticket-taker and present them with your card/page and a greeting of "I bought my tickets online."
If you'd like to get your tickets early in person, our box office opens at 10am M–F and 30 minutes before the first show on Saturday & Sunday (and some holidays). Hittsville has free 15-minute parking in our lot (north-side of the building, turn at the patio) for pop-ins (buying tickets, bread, records).
Note: We only do day-of ticketing for our regular programming. Online tickets open at midnight. Free-ticket vouchers, free member tickets, and gift-card purchases are not accepted online. There is a $1/ticket fee for online tickets.
Parking
Street parking is metered between 9am and 7pm, Monday through Saturday.
City garages are free on Saturday and Sunday, and starting at 6pm M–F.
We recommend parking in the city garage catty corner to us, on Hitt & Cherry, and in the Short Street garage around the corner off Broadway. Remember, you can park in permit spaces after 6pm and on the weekends in all city garages. You can pay for as long as you need in the H&C garage – no running out to feed the meter.
Most street meters in the area have a two-hour limit, or less, but there are a few four-hour meters (purple) on Hitt Street (last time we looked).
There is now a city parking app that allows you to feed your meter from your phone. Just step out into the cinema hall instead of running to your car.
Food
Uprise Bakery makes its food to order, so please give yourself enough time. Uprise has soups and hotcase items that are quick.
Kitchen closing hours: M–Thurs @ 8pm, Friday & Saturday @ 9pm. Closed Sunday.
Policy reminder: Ragtag only allows Uprise food & drink in our theaters (every show, regardless of time or day). Please plan accordingly.
