Chulas Fronteras Les Blank's remastered 1976 doc is a joyous introduction to Norteña music and culture along the Texas-Mexican border. Aug 19-22

Portrait of Jason Director Shirley Jackson's (Stephens grad!) 1966 classic remastered, presented by RaMell Ross. Ross will screen a new short, too, and host a discussion after. Presented with the University of Missouri's Jonathan B. Murray Center for Documentary Journalism. Aug 20, 6:15pm

Maiden, the thrilling feminist sailing adventure, comes ashore Friday, August 23

Streetwise, a portrait of teenagers on the streets of Seattle in 1983 and Tiny: The Life of Erin Blackwell, the where-are-they-now film 30 years later, play Aug 26-29.

A Night with Scott Yoo Renowned violinist and conductor of the Mexico City Philharmonic shows us an episode of Now Hear This (PBS) that merges music, storytelling, travel and culture to unearth the secret histories of some of the greatest music ever written. Ragtag will be screening episode two, “The Riddle of Bach,” which features University of Missouri’s flutist Alice Dade. Tues, Aug 27, 6:30pm, Free!
