Easy Rider

In this counterculture classic, bikers Wyatt (Peter Fonda) and Billy (Dennis Hopper) set off on a cross-country journey from Los Angeles to New Orleans after scoring big in a drug deal, encountering bigotry and progressiveness in equal measure. A major cultural phenomenon due to its rock soundtrack, naturalistic cinematography, and its colorful editing, Easy Rider still leaves audiences wondering what it means to live peacefully in America nearly 50 years on. This screening will be introduced by Unbound Book Festival panel moderator Caroline Dohack who will share how Easy Rider connects with her panel titled “Woo Woo Cthulhu: Cults, the Occult and the New Age.” Unbound leadership will also share a preview of other events not-to-be missed.
