Ed Wood

Ed Wood

June 23, 2022
The mostly true story of the legendary "worst director of all time", who, with the help of his strange friends, filmed countless B-movies without ever becoming famous or successful. Ed Wood is an affectionate and empathetic tribute to passion beyond talent, unquenchable self-expression, and the high of creating something.

Chase Thompson has lived in Columbia for 21 years and currently spends his days working at Veterans United. He thinks Columbia is the best because "we have incredible taste. It shows in our appreciation for the arts, music, food, education, trails, and the Missouri River. Our collective interests make us vibrant." The first film he saw at Ragtag was American Movie and if you take him to happy hour, be prepared for spicy nachos and an ice cold Snapper from Logboat. His taste in local pizza changes all the time, but he champions the underrated Flat Branch Brew Pub version. His hidden talent is cooking and after winning CoMo Famous, he'd like to do a local version of Chopped…if anyone is interested…

Film Reviews

"Winner of two Academy Awards including Best Supporting Actor and Best Makeup, the irony in Ed Wood is that the worst director of all time brought out the best of the man and what many consider Tim Burtons best film."
–David Gonzalez

"Ed Wood [is] a comedy of the ridiculous in which the ridiculous turns unexpectedly sublime."
–Owen Gleiberman
