Irish-language hip-hop group Kneecap plays themselves in this energetic, semi-fictionalized biopic depicting their global ascension. Belfast school teacher JJ (JJ Ó Dochartaigh “Dj Provaí”) joins forces with self-described “low-life” drug dealers Naoise (Naoise Ó Cairealláin “Móglaí Bap”) and Liam Og (Liam Óg Ó Hannaidh “Mo Chara”) to funnel their anger towards British imperialism through inventive, Irish-language rap lyrics. But, the path to preserving their native language is laid with obstacles from the police, politicians, and paramilitaries.
