One Read: My Octopus Teacher

In 2018, Craig Foster began free-diving in a frigid underwater kelp forest near Cape Town, South Africa. Documenting his dives, Craig eventually forges an unlikely bond with a curious octopus who begins to teach him profound life lessons. Winner of Best Documentary Feature at the 93rd Academy Awards, My Octopus Teacher follows a year in the life of Craig and his octopus companion.

This free screening, presented by Daniel Boone Regional Library, is part of the 2026 One Read program exploring the novel Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt.

Please note that FREE tickets for the public will be available at the Ragtag Box Office starting Sunday, September 6 at 12:30PM.

No more than two free tickets will be given to one person.

A free ticket guarantees you a seat until 10 minutes before showtime and not after. If all tickets have been distributed and there are open seats at 10 till, we will start seating the theater from the waiting list (queue). Ticket holders will continue to be admitted at this time if seats are available. This policy allows us to start on time and give the audience a distraction-free experience.
