Passing

This adaptation of Nella Larsen's Harlem Renaissance novel follows the reunion of two childhood friends—both light skinned Black women who pass for white and choose to live on opposite sides of the color line in 1929 New York. Mixed at Mizzou joins us to interrogate themes of passing, colorism, and the complications of mixed-race identity.
