Details About the Film

When English writer Christian (Ewan McGregor) begins an affair with star courtesan Satine (Nicole Kidman), the impassioned couple must evade the covetous Duke (Richard Roxburgh) who desires Satine for himself. The final film in Baz Luhrmann’s Red Curtain Trilogy, jukebox musical Moulin Rouge! playfully juxtaposes MTV pop hits with the bacchanal 1890s Moulin Rouge cabaret.

Celebrate Ragtag Cinema’s 24th year with our annual Birthday Party on Saturday, June 29. This year Hittsvile transforms into the Ragtag Cabaret with a screening of Moulin Rouge!, pre-show entertainment from drag troupe Nclusion Plus, and post-film karaoke. Free for members! General admission tickets for drag show + film is $16.
