Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing, a best-selling educational software that taught millions, made the titular character a household name. However, the software’s cover model, the Haitian-born Renee L'Espérance, vanished decades ago. Director Jazmin Jones and collaborator Olivia McKayla Ross embark on a cross-country investigation to search for the model while posing questions about artificial intelligence, Black representation, and the right to privacy in the digital age. True/False 2024 volunteers are eligible for free admission to screenings of Seeking Mavis Beacon. Free admission will be provided at the Ragtag Box Office only with T/F 2024 volunteer passes. Free admission is eligible for same-day screenings. T/F 2024 volunteers are unable to reserve a free ticket in advance. Ticket pick-up begins at 12PM at the Ragtag Box Office on the day of the screening T/F volunteers plan to attend.
