Sweet Smell of Success

When newspaper columnist J.J. Hunsecker (Burt Lancaster) decides that his sister can no longer be in a relationship with up-and-coming jazz musician, he coerces the publicist Sidney Falco (Tony Curtis) to destroy their relationship by any means necessary.

A box office flop upon its release that later gained acclaim due to the cinematography from Academy Award-winner James Wong Howe and the acerbic screenplay from Clifford Odets and Ernest Lehman, Sweet Smell of Success is a harrowing noir about media corruption. This free screening, presented by LaBrunerie Financial, is part of a series exploring demagogues in America.

Please note that FREE tickets for the public will be available at the Ragtag Box Office starting Tuesday, September 15 at 12PM. 

No more than two free tickets will be given to one person.

A free ticket guarantees you a seat until 10 minutes before showtime and not after. If all tickets have been distributed and there are open seats at 10 till, we will start seating the theater from the waiting list (queue). Ticket holders will continue to be admitted at this time if seats are available. This policy allows us to start on time and give the audience a distraction-free experience.
