The Definition of Insanity

The Definition of Insanity is a documentary film that explores how social support programs can connect individuals to mental health treatment and community resources and provide a sustainable alternative to the carceral system. Focused on the efforts of the Miami-Dade Criminal Mental Health Project, the film follows how this project turned away from a punitive criminal legal system to a transformative program of restorative justice, changing lives, restoring communities, and reforming the systems that serve them.

This free screening, presented by No New Jail Boone County Coalition, will be followed by a panel discussion with mental health and support professionals with lived experience working and living within the carceral system; they will share their experiences, answer questions, and discuss a vision of a future built on hope instead of punishment, in Boone County and beyond.

Please note that FREE tickets for the public will be available at the Ragtag Box Office starting Sunday, October 11 at 12:30PM.

No more than two free tickets will be given to one person.

A free ticket guarantees you a seat until 10 minutes before showtime and not after. If all tickets have been distributed and there are open seats at 10 till, we will start seating the theater from the waiting list (queue). Ticket holders will continue to be admitted at this time if seats are available. This policy allows us to start on time and give the audience a distraction-free experience.
