Details About the Film

Facebook engineer Frances Haugen (Mikey Madison) joins forces with Jeff Horwitz (Jeremy Allen White), a reporter from The Wall Street Journal, on a risky mission that will blow the whistle on the social network’s most-guarded secrets. A companion piece to the 2011 hit film The Social Network, screenwriter Aaron Sorkin returns to the behind the scenes of Facebook 15 years later with an original screenplay dramatizing the events of the 2021 leak that led to an explosive exposé in The Wall Street Journal.

Film Reviews

"THE SOCIAL RECKONING is a corporate thriller par excellence boasting an amazing cast."

–Jeanne Kaplan, Kaplan vs. Kaplan

"Powered by incredible lead performances, The Social Reckoning drags up uncomfortable truths about Facebook, mental health, and Jan. 6. It is hard to watch at times... but that is the entire point."

–Tessa Smith, Mama's Geeky

"It's what I like to call a verbal action thriller. There are no explosions, car chases or gratuitous sex scenes to jolt you awake every five minutes. The pyrotechnics are all in the dialogue, which fires at rapid pace."

–Lisa Johnson Mandell, AtHomeInHollywood.com
