3:30pm on September 23! Followed by a discussion
Marvel Studios' Black Panther follows T'Challa who, after the death of his father, the King of Wakanda, returns home to the isolated, technologically advanced African nation to succeed to the throne and take his rightful place as king. But when a powerful old enemy reappears, T'Challa's mettle as king — and Black Panther — is tested when he is drawn into a formidable conflict that puts the fate of Wakanda and the entire world at risk.
"One of the year's best films, and one that transcends the superhero genre to emerge as an epic of operatic proportions." (Odie Henderson, RogerEbert.com)
EXTRA CREDIT, a new partnership between Ragtag Cinema and The Connector, is a series featuring MU researchers discussing a monthly movie in relation to their research and creative activities. September's film is BLACK PANTHER, followed by a Q&A and discussion featuring Dr. Heather Hunt, associate professor of bioengineering, Dr. Bimal Balakrishnan, associate professor of architectural studies, and Professor Marc W. Vital, assistant professor of theatre. Our speakers will be answering questions about the virtual reality environments, energetic materials, costuming choices in the movie, and more!
These screenings will be regular prices for the general public, free for Ragtag members. Black Panther is a matinee (before 5pm), so regular price tickets are $7.50. Tickets available day of show only.
