Support your favorite local celebrity and the good work of Ragtag Film Society!
CoMo Famous is a fundraiser for Ragtag Film Society (Ragtag Cinema and True/False Film Fest) that celebrates the local community. During CoMo Famous, six prominent Columbians will each select a favorite film to screen one night at Ragtag Cinema. Contestants will compete for the highest amount of money raised from ticket sales and donations for their screening.
For the campaign's finale — and just in time for Halloween season — Going Viral and CoMo Famous ticket holders can attend a party that features a screening of one of Columbia's best-known films, the suspenseful thriller YOU'RE NEXT, inside the house where the film was shot. Truly a product of our town, the 2013 film was written by Columbia native Simon Barrett, launched the careers of several local crew members, and was produced by filmmaker (and former T/F and Ragtag Cinema alum) Kim Sherman. Sherman and surprise guests will attend the party and participate in a post-film Q&A. The celebration will also include food and drink from local businesses, live music, and the announcement of the winner of CoMo Famous 2019. We have an option to attend just the reception portion of the secret party.
The funds raised for CoMo Famous will ensure that Ragtag Film Society can continue to screen the best of independent film at Ragtag Cinema every day and transform Columbia during the four days of the True/False Film Fest.
