Her Majesty and The Bard

We continue our theatrical programming in July with screenings of the Royal Shakespeare Company's Shakespeare Live and the National Theatre's The Audience.

Hosted by David Tennant on Shakespeare's birthday, and screened from Stratford-upon-Avon, Shakespeare Live is a star-studded show celebrateing Shakespeare's plays and their enduring influence. Featuring appearances from Dame Judi Dench, Sir Ian McKellen, Joseph Fiennes, Meera Syal, Sanjeev Bhaskar, Rufus Wainwright and more. Showtimes are Saturday, July 9 at 12:30pm and Monday, July 11 at 6pm. Tickets will be $18 for the general public, and $14 for Ragtag members. Sorry, no free passes.

Written by Peter Morgan (The Queen), The Audience won three Tony Awards and two Olivier Awards. For sixty years, Queen Elizabeth II (Helen Mirren, delivering an award-winning performance) has met with each of her twelve Prime Ministers in a private weekly meeting known as The Audience. No one knows what they discuss, not even their spouses. Through these private audiences, we see glimpses of the woman behind the crown and witness the moments that shaped a monarch. Showtimes are Tuesday, July 19 at 6pm and Saturday July 23 at 12:30pm. Tickets will be $18 for the general public, and $14 for Ragtag members. Sorry, no free passes.
