Our Homebrewed series got started with a bang last Wednesday with Blue Ruin, the thriller by writer-director-cinematographer Jeremy Saulnier. We were proud to partner with Uprise Bakery and Schlafly who brought us the first tap in Columbia, MO, of Schlafly's Hard Apple Cider.
Join us this Wednesday, June 18, at 6:30 for Stop the Pounding Heart. Uprise Bakery's bar is offering $1 off Broadway Brewery's Blonde Ale for ticket holders before the film.
In Stop the Pounding Heart, a young teenager named Sara grows up on a goat farm in rural Texas. Director Roberto Minervini spent years getting to know Sara and her family, who all play themselves in this astonishingly intimate, beautiful and tender portrait film.
Stay after for a Skype with the filmmakers.
Special thanks to the National Endowment for the Arts and Uprise Bakery.
