From our guest critic, Rod:
This afternoon the Audi once again took me to the Ragtag to experience a wonderful film, Me and Earl and the Dying Girl. It was so much better than I even imagined; it was a brilliantly presented play of realistic people experiencing one of life’s most traumatic moments. If you love cinema and know something about its great films, then you are game for this film. If you love well-scripted and well-acted films, then you are the audience for this film. But be prepared for the tugging of your heart strings, even as you chuckle, wince and laugh. I wholeheartedly state that this is NOT a movie to be missed. As I usually state, "Get thee to the Ragtag" before this film is gone; you will be happy you did. If some of you, my readers, don’t live close to Columbia, then search for the independent or avant-garde or art house theaters near you for this film. It is a must-see if you enjoy real film. (I may be wrong, but I say this is a modern take on Camille). Don’t let it slip away; take the time to see Me and Earl and the Dying Girl! You’ll be glad you did.
