The Academy Awards nominees were announced this morning, and here are some Ragtag-related highlights:
First and foremost, Gary Oldman was nominated for his performance in Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy. We are letting this film go after this Thursday, so see Gary while you can! Tinker is also up for Best Adapted Screenplay and Original Score.
The Artist was nominated for 10 awards, including Best Picture, Cinematography and Director.
Films we're trying to get:
A Separation was nominated for Original Screenplay and Best Foreign Language Film.
Pina is up for Best Doc.
Films we've had:
Ragtag's most divisive film of 2011, Tree of Life, is up for Best Picture, Cinematography and Director.
Christopher Plummer was nominated for his work in Beginners.
Michelle Williams and Kenneth Branagh for their roles in My Week with Marilyn.
Margin Call: Best Original Screenplay (JC Chandor).
And, finally, everyone's favorite, Midnight in Paris, is up for four awards, including Best Picture and Director.
We're thinking about bringing back the Ragtag Oscars Party for 2012. Let us know what you think.
