Secret Sunshine starts Friday, April 8

"One of the year's best films." Michael Atkinson, Village Voice
Secret Sunshine is Korean director Chang-dong Lee's epic film about a mother (Do-yeon Jeon) facing tragedy in the South Korean village of Miryang. Do-yeon Jeon received a best actress award at the 2007 Cannes film festival for her work in this stunning film, which is just now receiving its long-awaited theatrical run in the United States. "To praise the perfection of Secret Sunshine would be to risk misrepresenting its main virtue, which is its attention to minor infelicities and inconveniences as well as to unspeakable crimes and intolerable heartaches. It is a great movie, by a major figure in world cinema." (AO Scott, NY Times)
