Now in its sixth year, Homebrewed is Ragtag's month-long celebration of idiosyncratic, autonomous American filmmaking. At 6:30pm on Wednesdays in June, we'll screen a daring new film from a United States director. After it ends, we'll talk to the filmmaker, usually via Skype.
Past editions of Homebrewed have celebrated the early works of filmmakers such as Jeremy Saulnier (Green Room), Amy Seimetz (The Girlfriend Experience) and Alex Ross Perry (Listen Up Philip). This year's lineup begins with the auspicious debut of a 27-year-old Texan and ends with an audacious new film from a 72-year-old Oklahoma legend. In between, we'll welcome back a Homebrewed favorite, Patrick Wang (In the Family), and spotlight the work of Anna Rose Holmer, who collaborated with a real Cincinnati dance troupe on her first fiction film, The Fits.
