[Updated: 8/7]
Summer Hours will now start on Saturday, August 8 instead of Friday, August 7. We apologize for this minor goof-up.
This Friday weekend two excellent new films start for one week engagements -- Olivier Assayas' lovely and dexterous new feature (and one of the best films of the year), Summer Hours, starring Juliette Binoche in a fetching new hairdo (see above), and The Brothers Bloom, wherein Adrian Brody, Mark Ruffalo and Rachel Weisz are thrown into a loopy labyrinth of international con schemes and betrayal.
We're also extremely stoked to announce that next weekend we're opening Ponyo, the newest film by Hayao Miyazaki, the director of such eye-popping, emotionally rich recent masterworks as Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away, and Howl's Moving Castle. Check back here on Monday afternoon for showtimes.
