Show Me: Season 5
A program of free, monthly screenings followed by community conversations, the Show Me Series is a co-curatorial endeavor between Ragtag Cinema and its five community partners (Columbia Center for Urban Agriculture; Race Matters, Friends; State Historical Society of Missouri; Truman School of Government & Public Affairs ). Seeking to evolve our film-centric space into one that embraces our communities, this series uses film as an art form to prompt rich and poignant discussions.
Science on Screen
Enhances film and scientific literacy with a popular program by creatively pairing screenings of classic, cult, science fiction, and documentary films with lively presentations by notable experts from the world of science and technology.
Ragtag Classic Movies
Is a thematic strand that exclusively programs classic cinema. This strand aims to foster a dedicated cinematic space for the classics that have been heralded as important for film history and moviegoing culture.
Reel Visions
Celebrates works by filmmakers of color. Select screenings are accompanied by a Mid-Missouri artist of color to place different artistic modes in conversation with another and support the careers of local artists. This series aims to build an inclusive filmgoing community at ragtag cinema.
Screentime
This series invites kids and their families to foster a lifelong love of moviegoing. Beloved classics and newfound favorites share the screen in this collection of all-ages cinema. Screenings are introduced by special guests to spark the curiosity of ragtag’s next generation of film-lovers.
