In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. It is an evening of informal talks, videos and performances which celebrate ideas worth sharing because ideas are the beginnings of the worlds to come; the world as we would have it be. Tedxcomo is an interactive and fun experience designed to spark deep dialogue as a way to bring ideas in fruition; to instill faith in taking action on ideas; to stir up the question What are we waiting for? The speakers include: community organizer Barry Creighton (Kasilof, Alaska) — on an expanded notion of Season and its impact on community and food; actor, director, and dancer KC Baker (SF) — on playing our the way to our Fabulous Green Future; professor Laura King on the psychology of the good life; dancer Nicole Marquez (Jackson, Miss.) on how a tragic fall hasn’t stopped her; author Ibtisam Barakat on revolutions in the Middle East as models of feminine tactics for change; author Eric Brende (St. Louis) on whether the web makes our life better; and writer John Ikerd on Beyond Sustainability.
