The Alloy Orchestra visits us on September 22

We are very pleased to announce that the Alloy Orchestra will be returning to Ragtag to perform their score for The Son of the Sheik at 6:30pm on Tuesday, September 22.

Alloy Orchestra is a three man musical ensemble — Terry Donahue on junk percussion, musical saw and accordion, Ken Winokur on percussion and clarinet and Roger Miller (of Mission of Burma!) on keyboard — who write and perform live accompaniment to classic silent films. They've performed at Ragtag a number of times over the years, bringing to life great films such as Buster Keaton, Man with a Movie Camera and Nosferatu.

The Son of the Sheik is a thrilling adventure film from 1926. Heartthrob Rudolph Valentino stars as Ahmed, the son of the Sheik who falls in love with a dancing girl (Vilma Bánky). When Ahmed is made to believe she has betrayed him, he seeks revenge.

Tickets are $12 for non-members, $8 for all members. No free-ticket vouchers or free-ticket membership benefits for this one, folks.
