THE RATS & PEOPLE ORCHESTRA returns June 22 and 23!

Ragtag favorites, The Rats & People Orchestra, return for a two-day residency, performing their live scores to two great silent films. Regular tickets are $10, member tickets are $6.

Häxan: Witchcraft Through the Ages (dir. Benjamin Christensen, 1922, 104 min.) This legendary silent quasi-documentary from Denmark is a favorite of the surrealists — a witches' brew of the scary, gross, and darkly humorous. Wed., June 22, 9:15pm

Strike! (dir. Sergei Eisenstein, 1924, 82 min.) This celebration of the unrealized 1905 Bolshevik revolution is set in motion by a series of outrages and humiliations perpetrated on the workers of a metalworks plant. Strike is where Eisenstein's theory of "the montage of shocks" was given its first major workout. The Strike score is the Rats & People's most challenging and audacious work yet. Thurs., June 23, 7pm
