Ragtag Cinema proudly presents the inaugural Home Movies: Local Filmmaker Showcase. This free event screens short films made in Missouri and will include a Q&A with the filmmakers. Spanning both narrative and nonfiction filmmaking, this showcase brings together these diverse films for a program exploring relationships, family, and the passage of time.

Some films in this program may not be suitable for very young children due to adult themes. Recommended for ages 13 and up.

BARBER [Documentary Short, 11 mins, 2026] - Dir. Kyle Button

Barber provides a look into one of the most intimate male spaces, the barbershop.

ETHEL [Narrative Short, 15 mins, 2026] - Dir. Kerri Yost

An older woman living alone in the rural Midwest is taken by surprise when her caseworker brings her an unexpected gift: a robotic cat.

A young amateur photographer caught between life and death is forced to relive the final moments she captured on film, confronting her fears as each photo pulls her closer to the end.

VACANT AISLES [Narrative Short, 13 mins, 2026] - Dir. Brennen Cline

Two mall employees who are adrift in life are confronted with the fact that they need to make a change.

WHAT CAN YOU HEAR? [Documentary Short, 20 mins, 2025] - Dir. Molly Fox

Grappling with a genetic hearing loss disorder, a young filmmaker sets off on a road trip with her family to seek answers for how to cope with her inevitable deafness.

Please note that FREE tickets for the public will be available at the Ragtag Box Office starting Tuesday, September 8 at 12PM. 

No more than two free tickets will be given to one person.

A free ticket guarantees you a seat until 10 minutes before showtime and not after. If all tickets have been distributed and there are open seats at 10 till, we will start seating the theater from the waiting list (queue). Ticket holders will continue to be admitted at this time if seats are available. This policy allows us to start on time and give the audience a distraction-free experience.
