I Didn't See You There

As a visibly disabled person, filmmaker Reid Davenport is often either subject to unwanted hyper-visibility or rendered invisible. Seeking to make a film about his own gaze without being seen by the camera, his project shifts when a circus tent appears outside of his apartment in Oakland, California, forcing him to consider the legacy of freak shows and public gawking alongside how he exists in the world.

A radical work of nonfiction filmmaking, I Didn’t See You There confronts the spectacle and invisibility of disability. This free screening, part of MU Disability Culture Month and presented by the Office of Accessibility and ADA, screens with open captions.

Please note that FREE tickets for the public will be available at the Ragtag Box Office starting Monday, September 21 at 12PM. 

No more than two free tickets will be given to one person.

A free ticket guarantees you a seat until 10 minutes before showtime and not after. If all tickets have been distributed and there are open seats at 10 till, we will start seating the theater from the waiting list (queue). Ticket holders will continue to be admitted at this time if seats are available. This policy allows us to start on time and give the audience a distraction-free experience.
